Peter Doucet, TISC’s President & Coach, placed 2nd at last weekend’s Athens to Atlanta. The event, which known as A2A within skating circles, has been held annually since 1982. TISC’s very own Aaron Arndt won the event back in 2007.
This was the 7th time Doucet completed A2A the second time he stepped onto the podium. This year, he finished in 4h43 minutes- tied for 2nd with Francisco Ramirez, winner of the New York 100k two weeks earlier. The pair finished about 8 minutes back of winner Eddy Matzger.
The most impressive part of Doucet’s podium finish is earlier that week on October 6th, he suffered a training accident while riding his bicycle, slamming into the back of a car at 30km/h and dislocating his knee.
